Watercolor Garden Tale Illustrations
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’ve written a series of four picture-books (up to 25 pages each) that all unfold in Clara’s seaside garden. Every title centres on one of the garden’s lively residents, and I need full-page, fairy-tale–styled watercolor illustrations that feel at once whimsical and quietly serene.

Project scope
– Four separate storybooks, each devoted to one animal friend (Ladybug, Hummingbird, Bunny, Owl).
– Up to 25 illustrated spreads per book, plus a front cover and simple back-matter spot art.
– Age range: 4-8, though the tone should stay timeless enough for younger listeners and older independent readers.
– Technique: traditional or digital watercolor that convincingly mimics hand-painted washes.
– Mood: a balanced blend of playful whimsy and peaceful calm, as if the reader is wandering through a gentle fairy garden at dawn.
– Setting continuity: every scene must feel rooted in the same coastal vegetable garden tended lovingly by Clara.
Acceptance criteria
1. Consistent character design across all books (colour palette, proportions, personality cues).
2. High-resolution, print-ready files (minimum 300 DPI, CMYK) with text-free layers for later layout.
3. A soft proof for each spread before final rendering to confirm composition and pacing.
4. Final delivery of layered PSD or TIFF plus flattened PDF of each title.
With these illustrations in place I can move directly into layout and print, so clear, reliable file hand-off is essential.
