Spine 2D Character Animation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have a finished 2-D drawing of a character and now need it brought to life inside Esoteric Spine. Your job is to rig the artwork and build a smooth, loopable walk cycle. The base art is already separated into layers, but if you spot anything that needs extra slicing for better deformations, you’re free to adjust it before rigging.
Core scope
• Rig the provided 2-D drawing in Spine
• Create a seamless walking animation (roughly one second per loop)
• Keep bones and mesh weights clean so future actions—jumping, talking, etc.—can be added later without re-doing the rig
Deliverables
• The .spine project file with organized hierarchy and clean naming
• Exported JSON/atlas/PNG spritesheet ready for engine import
• A short MP4 or GIF preview to confirm the loop
I’d like to see a couple of past Spine projects that show comparable walk cycles or character rigs so I can gauge style and technical finish. If everything checks out, there’s room to extend the brief with more actions after this first milestone.
