Realistic 2D Dialog Animations
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have eleven short audio clips—each one a self-contained dialogue—and I need them brought to life by two recurring characters, one male and one female. The brief is straightforward:
• Animation style: 2D, but rendered with a realistic look rather than cartoon or anime.
• Background: transparent, so I can composite the clips over any scene later.
• Emotional range: mostly light-hearted, comedic exchanges with a few more serious moments mixed in. I will supply a timing sheet that flags where the tone shifts.
Here’s how I’d like us to work:
1. Character concept & turnaround – a clean model sheet for both characters so we lock down proportions, facial features, and a neutral pose.
2. Approval of a short test shot – one line from the first dialogue animated all the way through, including lip-sync, subtle facial acting, and body gestures.
3. Full animation pass – the remaining ten clips, delivered as individual files.
4. Final delivery – MOV files with alpha or PNG sequences (24 fps) plus the project file from your preferred 2D package (Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, TVPaint—your choice).
Each clip averages 10–20 seconds, so timing and mouth shapes must sync tightly to the provided audio. Comedic timing is critical; for the serious moments I’m looking for believable micro-expressions rather than exaggerated poses.
If this sounds like your wheelhouse, please tell me:
• Which 2D software you’ll animate in.
• A link to past work that shows realistic character acting.
• Your estimated timeline for concept, test shot, and final delivery.
I’m ready to start as soon as we agree on the style sheets. Looking forward to collaborating!
