Realistic Cartoon Character Illustrations

I’m developing a new set of cartoon characters and want them drawn in a realistic style—think expressive faces, believable textures, and lifelike lighting, while still keeping the charm and personality of classic cartoons.
The theme revolves around nature, so subtle floral elements can weave into the designs, but the characters themselves remain the primary focus. I’ll share a brief for each figure, including personality notes, reference sketches, and any specific flower motifs I’d like incorporated.
What I need from you
– A first rough concept for each character so we can lock in proportions and pose
– A polished, full-colour illustration at print-ready resolution (minimum 300 dpi, RGB and CMYK versions)
– Layered source files in PSD or AI so small tweaks can be made later
– A short note on the colour palette you choose, to keep the collection cohesive
Acceptance criteria
1. Characters read instantly as cartoons but display realistic shading, anatomy, and surface detail.
2. Final files arrive on time, cleanly layered, and match the brief’s size specs.
3. Colours are consistent across the set and reproduce accurately in both digital and print mock-ups.
