Mom-Hero Kids’ Book Creation
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m putting together a 10- to 20-page children’s picture book told through my little girl’s eyes. The story celebrates her mom—my wife—as the everyday superhero who seems to switch roles at lightning speed: nurse when a knee is scraped, chef when pancakes are demanded, teacher during homework time, and cuddly storyteller at night. By the final page my daughter proudly declares, “I think my mom is a superhero!”
Here’s what I need from you:
• A playful, cartoonish illustration style that feels warm, bright, and engaging for early readers.
• Guidance on staging each spread. I have the core roles (nurse, chef, teacher, etc.) but would love your creative ideas for additional moments that reinforce the “super-mom” theme.
• Full-colour artwork for every page, delivered print-ready (300 dpi, CMYK) plus web-optimised copies for digital use.
• Simple page layouts that leave room for a short paragraph of text on each spread. I’ll supply the final wording; you’re welcome to suggest tweaks that fit the visuals.
Acceptance criteria
1. Rough thumbnails depicting pacing and composition approved before full renders.
2. Consistent character designs that clearly resemble my wife and daughter from page to page.
3. Final files supplied as layered PSD or editable AI, along with flattened PDFs for print.
If you’re excited to help a child crown her mom a superhero, tell me about your process and share a sample of cartoonish work aimed at young audiences.
