Looking for a Long-Term Pixel Animation Partner (2D Game Project)

Job ID: 40139271

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I’m looking to start a long-term animation partnership with a skilled pixel artist / animator, beginning with a high-fidelity 2D sprite animation set.

This first task is a clean, looping walk cycle (with a light run variant) for a human character in pixel art, intended to drop straight into a 2D game.

Project Goals
I already have a strong base of reference assets and character direction in engine. The goal is to refine and elevate them—tightening motion, improving silhouette clarity, and achieving a perfect, jitter-free loop that reads clearly at 1× scale.

I’m specifically looking for animation quality that is expressive but grounded, smooth without over-animating, and mechanically consistent frame-to-frame.

Technical Requirements
Pixel art sprite animation
Roughly 64 × 64 px per frame
Transparent PNG sprite strips or Aseprite (.ase/.aseprite) source file
Clean, seamless loop (no pops, no drift)
Walk → light run motion that reads clearly and feels weight-correct

Views
Full walking cycles in 8 directions.
I’m flexible if a reduced set keeps motion fluid and file size efficient

Deliverables
Editable source file with layers
Exported sprite strips and/or GIF previews
Loop-safe animation ready for engine drop-in

What I’ll Provide
Reference sketches
Existing base assets for refinement

Clear feedback focused on:
Silhouette clarity
Motion consistency
Loop perfection

To Apply
Please include:
Your typical frame count for a walk cycle
A link to similar pixel animation work (especially character motion)
Confirmation that you’re open to ongoing collaboration beyond this first task

If this first animation is a good fit, I’m looking to continue with additional characters, idle cycles, interactions, and effects over time.

Looking forward to collaborating.
