Indie Animation Venture Co-Founder Roles
Budget: $10 – $20 USD
I am assembling a founding team for a new indie-animation studio that will launch with a single 15-minute pilot produced in a distinctive, independent style. The goal is to take the pilot all the way from blank page to global release, then build a sustainable business around the property.
Here is how I picture our collaboration:
• Animation creation – one partner will handle the full 2D production workflow (storyboard, layout, rough keys, clean-up, color and final compositing). You are free to choose Toon Boom, TVPaint, After Effects or any pipeline you trust, so long as the finished clip runs a clean 15 minutes at broadcast quality.
• Overseas video distribution – another partner will own the “from upload button to audience” process. That includes channel set-up, metadata, subtitling, rights management and revenue optimisation on the main Western platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc.) as well as any niche outlets you can justify.
• Legal – one lawyer partner will structure the company, register IP, draft production and distribution contracts and keep us compliant as we step into multiple jurisdictions.
• Accounting – one finance partner will establish our books, design a transparent royalty split, monitor cashflow and handle taxes from first day of incorporation.
• Screenwriting – one writer will deliver a production-ready script that fits a 15-minute runtime, complete with beat breakdown, dialogue and basic scene directions.
There is no fixed delivery deadline; we will set realistic milestones together once the core team is in place. I am contributing the initial funding required for pre-production and company formation, and I expect each partner to exchange their expertise for an equity position we will negotiate openly.
If you are ready to co-found something original, tell me briefly how you would tackle your area of the project and what tools or methods you would bring to the table.
