Hybrid Anime Series Animation
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
An original anime series is entering production and the pilot episode now needs full hybrid treatment. The vision is clear: expressive 2D character animation and stylised 2D special effects layered seamlessly over fully-realised 3D backgrounds, vehicles and props. Storyboards, character sheets, and a locked animatic are already in hand, so the work begins at layout and runs through to final composite.
Scope of work
• 2D tasks – rough and clean key animation, in-betweens, and FX passes for characters and atmospheric elements. Toon Boom Harmony or TVPaint skills are ideal, though vector-based software is acceptable if the final line retains a hand-drawn feel.
• 3D tasks – modelling, texturing, lighting and camera moves for environment sets, transport and key props. Maya, Blender or similar will slot easily into the current pipeline.
• Integration – match-move and composite in After Effects or Nuke, ensuring colour space and frame rate (24 fps) align across all assets.
Deliverable
A 90-second pilot sequence (4K, 24 fps) delivered as layered EXR or ProRes 4444 with separate dialogue, SFX and music stems for downstream editing.
Acceptance criteria
1. On-model characters that match supplied reference sheets.
2. Consistent line weight and colour styling across every shot.
3. Rendered 3D elements must blend without visible seams or aliasing.
4. Final composite reviewed against the animatic and approved colour script.
Communication runs through Slack; version control via Git-LFS. File sharing stays on Google Drive with daily sync. The schedule allows three calendar weeks from asset hand-off to final render, with midpoint check-ins on blocking and rough composite.
If this hybrid approach excites you and the timeline feels comfortable, the production is ready to move forward immediately.
