Hourglass Animation Loop
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I want to swap the ticking clock on https://www.sherpabusinesssales.com/landing with a 15-second, seamlessly looping hourglass animation that plays automatically in the hero section. The piece has one job: remind visitors that their time to act is slipping away, so the falling sand must feel alive and hypnotic while staying fully in line with the site’s aesthetic.
Concept
The top chamber should be labelled “Free Time” (or “Your Free Time”).
The bottom chamber should be labelled “Lost Time” or “Spent Time.”
As sand flows naturally from top to bottom, the animation should evoke a subtle sense of urgency and reflection, while staying elegant and on-brand.
The loop should feel continuous, so the viewer can watch indefinitely without noticing the restart.
Style & look
• Keep the palette and overall modern feel already on the page—nothing cartoony or retro.
• The hourglass itself can be subtly stylised, but the sand should read as fine, realistic grains.
• The eye should always be drawn to the stream of sand; background elements should stay minimal so they don’t compete.
Technical notes
• 15-second perfect loop, no visible jump.
• Optimised for web: small file size without crushing detail. MP4 or WebM is fine; if you prefer a Lottie/json approach for lighter weight, let me know.
• Dimensions that fit cleanly in the current hero section (the existing clock asset is 1080 × 1080, but I’m flexible if you have a better suggestion).
• Please include a version with transparency or a keyed background so I can test different colour blocks behind it.
Deliverables
1. Final 15-second looping file(s) ready to drop into the site.
2. Source project file (After Effects, Blender, etc.) for future tweaks.
3. One quick play-through gif or mp4 so I can preview without loading the full asset.
I’ll provide brand hex codes and any other assets you need as soon as we start. If you have relevant motion pieces in your portfolio—especially those featuring fine-particle simulations—send them over so I can gauge fit.
