Gothic Vampire Slot Symbol Revamp
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
Overview:
I have a fully-built, functional gothic vampire-themed slot game (5-reel, cluster mechanics, multiple bonus modes) integrated with the Stake Engine platform. The game's code, math, UI, and structure are complete. I need a professional artist to bring the symbol art and animations up to the production-quality bar required to pass Stake's review process.
This is a real-money slot platform with strict quality standards. The work must meet that bar.
What I need:
Symbol art redesign — Redesign of select reel symbols (currently 4-5 symbols need replacement; the rest of the set is strong and must be matched in style). I'll share the existing symbols so you can see which to keep matching and which to redesign. Open to your professional input on whether certain symbols should remain character-based or shift to ornate objects.
Spine animations — Skeletal animations (Spine 2D, industry standard) for symbols: win-state celebrations, and land animations. Must export in Spine format compatible with PixiJS / Stake Engine SDK.
A cohesive symbol set — All symbols must look like they came from one artist, with a unified gothic aesthetic (painted, atmospheric, burgundy/gold/dark palette).
Critical requirements (please read carefully):
NO AI-generated art. This is non-negotiable. The project previously used AI-generated assets and they failed platform review for "low quality assets" and "inconsistent art style." Applicants proposing AI workflows will not be considered.
Mobile-scale legibility. Symbols must read clearly and look high-quality at actual in-game render size (~50-60px on mobile portrait). Please confirm you design for small render targets — this is essential and where the previous assets failed.
Style cohesion with existing symbols. I'm keeping several strong symbols (ornate objects). New work must match their painted-gothic style so the full set looks unified.
Spine rigging, not motion graphics. Animations must be true Spine skeletal rigs, not After Effects motion graphics or simple tweens. Stake reviewers benchmark against Spine-quality character animation.
Technical specs (final specs provided on hire):
Symbol dimensions and format: PNG with transparency (exact px dimensions provided), Spine export for animated assets
Consistent file naming and asset structure for Stake Engine SDK integration
Source files delivered (layered PSD/Spine project files), not just flattened outputs
Aesthetic direction:
Gothic vampire mansion. Painted, atmospheric, restrained "old money" elegance rather than garish. Palette: deep burgundy, aged gold, silver, dark crimson. Think: ornate, premium, moody — not cartoonish, not neon.
To apply, please provide:
A portfolio showing slot/casino game symbols specifically (not just general game art)
At least one example of a complete symbol set so I can assess style consistency across multiple symbols
Examples of those symbols at actual game-render scale (small) if possible
Spine animation examples — ideally slot symbol win/idle animations
Confirmation you work without AI-generated assets
Your availability and estimated timeline
