Custom Pokémon Gameboy Box Art
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am commissioning a fully-coloured, pen-and-ink illustration that turns a bedtime story I invented for my now-28-year-old son into a piece of “lost” gaming memorabilia. The piece should look exactly like the front of a Nintendo Gameboy cartridge box for an imaginary Pokémon “Watermelon Version,” starring the fictional Pokemon , I named Peekapocka Hootie.
Style & palette
• Traditional pen and ink is a must, finished with bright, saturated greens, blues, reds and yellows that echo classic Pokémon packaging.
• The illustration should feel period-accurate to late-1990s Gameboy box art—clean lines, bold outline work and a playful, high-energy composition.
Mandatory front-panel elements
• Nintendo Gameboy logo (original vertical orientation)
• Official Pokémon logo in English katakana or standard latin type—whichever fits best visually
• A dynamic, central illustration of Peekapocka Hootie (I’ll send exact physical details, powers and any turn-around sketches once we start)
• A small watermelon emoji, visually indicating the cartridge as the “ Watermelon” version.
Everything else—rating marks, Nintendo seal, Japanese text flourishes—can be added if you enjoy that level of authenticity, but the four items above must be unmistakable.
Deliverable
