Courtroom Sketch Series

Job ID: 40420956

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I'm producing a documentary about a criminal jury trial. I have several screen-shots of witness testimony, the judge, the attorneys, etc that I want converted into courtroom-style sketches. The likenesses should be faithful, but you should take liberties in the image backgrounds.

Several of these images will be used in sequence to create very low frame-rate videos; in these, I want the outlines to "wiggle" a bit, as in animation. Photo-tracing the primary individuals in each image is allowed.

All sketches must be delivered as high-resolution TIFF or layered PSD files suitable for newspaper print and online use (minimum 300 dpi at approximately 8×10"). Please keep the tonal range rich and consistent across the series so they read as a unified package.

Deliverables:
• Rough thumbnail or composition study for each scene (approval needed before final rendering)
• Final charcoal illustration files, clearly named to match the reference list
• One combined contact sheet (JPEG) for quick editorial review

I will provide reference photos, a shot list, and any necessary captions once we begin. Let me know your turnaround time per batch and a link to previous courtroom or reportage-style charcoal work so I can gauge fit. I've mocked up several options using AI and am not happy with any; pitch me on style. I want something that's more realistic-looking than a newspaper cartoon, but not overly faithful to the image. Reach out with any questions. Attached is a reference image.
