Children's Educational Swimming Animation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m preparing a short learning module for children and need a set of clear, engaging animations that break down the four competitive strokes—1) backstroke, 2) breaststroke, 3) front crawl (freestyle) and 4) butterfly. For each stroke I’ll need 3-4 separate perspectives: 1) a clean side-on view that highlights body lines and timing, and an 2) overhead view that makes the overall path through the water unmistakable, and a 3/4) front on or underneath view to provide clarity of the swimming stroke.
Here is a good reference example for front crawl - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyR7JYllk9U
And a good 2d reference - https://www.facebook.com/reel/1925936934101465
Because the videos will be shown to kids, the visual tone should sit comfortably between realistic and simplified—think anatomically correct proportions and joint movement, but without hyper-detailed texturing. Colourful swimwear and a lightly stylised character are perfect as long as the technique remains textbook accurate - please see the PDF attached as a reference for character design/style - please note, these are all 2d style references, but gives an idea of what design I am looking for - ideally somewhere between the examples in the PDF and the youtube animation reference.
Key points I must see in every clip
• Technique accuracy: arm recovery, kick timing, streamlined reaches, legal turns kept honest.
• Body-movement clarity: joints and spine need to read well even on a small classroom projector.
• Underwater dynamics: water displacement, bubbles or faint current trails that make propulsion understandable.
I’m happy with either 2D or 3D workflows (where 2d created, needs to be able to provide 3D visualization/education in the animation, if only 2d, it still needs to accurately convey the movement). —Toon Boom, Blender, After Effects, whichever lets you animate fluidly and render crisp 1080p (or higher) MP4s with transparent or blue-pool backgrounds. Sound is not required.
Deliverables
1. Four finished animations (from multiple visual perspective/angles) in MP4 and source project files.
2. A single storyboard or thumbnail sheet for quick approval before full production.
3. Revision cycles after first renders to fine-tune rhythm or clarity.
I’ll review portfolios that show believable human motion or previous sports instruction work first, but any animator who can demonstrate clean timing and clear anatomy is welcome to bid. Looking forward to seeing how you bring these strokes to life!
