Cartoon Character Design & Animation
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m putting together a short, beginner-level 2D animation and need a set of original human characters drawn in a fun, cartoonish style. Each character must be able to switch convincingly between three clear emotional states—happy & excited, sad & emotional, and angry & intense—so facial features and body language have to be expressive and easy to read.
Here’s how I picture the workflow:
• You sketch and refine one or two base human models, add turnarounds, then develop a small expression sheet that covers the three moods above.
• Once approved, you create a simple motion test for each emotion—think a quick wave, a slumped walk cycle, or an angry stomp—nothing complex, just enough to show the design in motion.
I’ll provide a script excerpt and color palette on kickoff, and I can work with files from Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, or even layered PSDs if you prefer. Clean linework, solid color blocking, and neatly organized layers are essential so I can animate further scenes myself later.
Deliverables
1. Character turnaround (front, side, back)
2. Expression sheet: happy, sad, angry
3. Three short motion clips (2–3 sec each) exported as MP4 + source files
Finish is needed within two weeks. Let me know your typical process and any questions you have so we can lock the style quickly and keep things moving.
