Cartoon Avatar Motion Capture Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m producing a video-enabled podcast and want a set of lively cartoonish avatars that mirror me in real time. Whenever I raise an eyebrow, wave my hand, shift my posture, or start talking, the character on screen should do the same with smooth facial expressions, full-body movement and hand gestures, plus accurate lip-sync tied to my microphone input.
Here’s what I need:
• One or more original, fully-rigged cartoon avatars designed from scratch (2D or 3D, whichever you work best in).
• Real-time motion-capture setup so the avatar tracks facial expressions, body movement and individual hand gestures from a standard webcam or depth camera.
• Automatic speech-driven mouth animation that matches my voice during live recording.
• A lightweight integration pipeline I can drop into my podcast workflow—OBS, Streamlabs or similar—so the character replaces my camera feed with minimal latency.
• Source files, rigs and clear instructions so I can reuse or tweak the characters for future episodes.
Feel free to build in Unity, Unreal, Adobe Character Animator, Live2D, or any tool you’re comfortable with—what matters is a responsive, cartoon look that feels fun on screen and keeps sync throughout a typical hour-long show. I’ll test the result on my side: if the avatar follows my face, body and hands reliably for at least ten minutes and the lip-sync stays within a frame or two, we’re good.
Let me know your preferred toolchain and how quickly you can deliver the first prototype; once that’s approved we can polish expressions, outfits and backgrounds.
