Cartoon Art for Children’s Book
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m finishing a picture book aimed at 4- to 7-year-olds and I need a small set of vibrant, cartoon-style illustrations to bring the story to life. The brief is straightforward: fewer than ten full-colour spreads or spot drawings that capture playful characters, clear emotions and simple backgrounds that won’t overwhelm early readers.
You’ll receive the final text and rough page plan as soon as we start so you can suggest where each illustration fits best. Colour palette, character sketches and any tweaks can be discussed in real time—quick turnaround feedback is important to me because I’d like to keep the production schedule tight.
Deliverables
• 8–9 high-resolution illustrations (PNG or layered PSD) ready for print and e-book layouts
• One cover concept with title placement left editable
• Source files with organised layers and any fonts or brush assets used
Acceptance criteria
• Consistent cartoon style across every image
• Print-ready resolution (300 dpi, CMYK) plus web-ready RGB copies
• Final approval after no more than two revision rounds per piece
If this sounds like the right fit, I’d love to see a sample of your previous children’s work—especially anything in a bright, whimsical cartoon vein.
