Anime-Style T. Rex Illustrations
Budget: $750 – $1,500 SGD
I’m commissioning a series of high-resolution illustrations that fuse scientific accuracy with dynamic shonen-influenced anime flair. The focus is Tyrannosaurus rex—both my own original kaiju interpretation and several well-known fictional versions—rendered with correct anatomy yet the cinematic power of cel or soft shading.
What I need first is my OC: a colossal crimson, armour-plated T. rex whose look borrows cues from multiple real-world and pop-culture sources. Picture it dominating a lush, highly detailed wilderness backdrop, sunlight breaking through the canopy and glinting off the plates.
Next come individual pieces that re-imagine Jurassic Park, Primal Carnage, Dinosaur King, The Isle, Primal, and similar T. rex designs. I want their trademark colour palettes preserved, but the bodies bulked and proportioned the way palaeontologists describe—thick necks, deep chests, powerful tails.
Finally, I’d like purely scientific T. rexes, but painted with those same pop-culture colour schemes to tie the set together.
Key points you’ll need to hit
• Shonen tone and dynamism in composition and posing
• Accurate skeletal and muscular structure for each dinosaur
• Choice of cel-shaded or soft-shaded anime rendering, consistent per piece
• Highly detailed natural backgrounds that feel cinematic yet don’t distract from the creature
• Layered PSD or Clip Studio files plus flattened PNGs at 4K or higher
There are more specifics, but I will discuss them only with the artists whom I have found. Please also do not feel obligated to draw every single one of my requests, I can always outsource to other artists, unless you are genuinely willing to keep drawing anime T. Rex after anime T. Rex.
I’ll review sketches for anatomy and staging before you proceed to colour, then sign off after final polish. If this sounds like your kind of project, show me samples of dinosaurs, kaiju or large creatures you’ve tackled in an anime style, and let’s bring these titans to life.
*Rest assured that there will be breaks in-between commissioned illustrations, as long as you need. Deadlines can also be discussed & negotiated.
**I will also only pay for one illustration at a time. Please do not expect me to pay over $1000 for drawings I have not even commissioned yet.
