Help Me Rig My SEL Characters (Beginner-Friendly Collaboration)
Description:
Hi! I’m Michelle, a school counselor and creative lead of The Social Explorers, a YouTube channel that helps kids build emotional skills through animated adventures. I’ve created three characters—Harper the Heart, Scout the Brain , and Captain Calm —to guide children through affirmations, coping strategies, and playful SEL storytelling.
I’m not an animation expert, but I’ve designed these characters in collaboration with ChatGPT and broken them into parts (head, limbs, mouth shapes, etc.) with the goal of animating them more expressively. I’d love to hire someone who can rig them for simple motion and lip-sync—ideally in Adobe Animator or a similar tool.
What I Need:
• Help rigging one character to start (Captain Calm), with the option to expand to Harper and Scout later
• A reusable setup that supports basic gestures and mouth movement
• Guidance on how to use the rig once it’s built (even a short walkthrough video would be amazing)
• Patience and kindness—I’m learning as I go and really appreciate clear communication
Bonus if you:
• Can advise on how to integrate the rigged characters into Canva or CapCut scenes
• Understand the tone of SEL content (gentle, affirming, kid-friendly)
