2D Animated Overlays for Video
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I have a finished four-minute video that needs an extra spark. I want to layer custom 2D animation directly on top of the edit—think movement of video, floating icons that reinforce key moments, and character cameos that liven up transitions. The goal is to add visual interest and emphasize points; the storytelling and pacing are already locked, so your animation should complement, not compete with, the existing footage.
You will receive the final 4-minute master (ProRes 422) along with time-coded notes that flag each moment where an overlay is desired. All artwork must respect safe areas and remain on-brand (colour palette and fonts supplied as an Illustrator package).
Deliverables
• One full-resolution video file with the overlays baked in (1920×1080, 25 fps).
• A second version with the overlays on an alpha channel (MOV with ProRes 4444) so we can repurpose the graphics later.
• Source files (After Effects project with organised layers).
Acceptance criteria
• Animation style: clean 2D, no 3D or faux-depth effects.
• Visual elements: text, icons, and character snippets appear exactly at the time-codes provided and match brand colours.
• Smooth motion, no visible jitter or aliasing on edges at 100 % zoom.
