Animate Vintage Family Portrait
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a cherished family portrait that I want to see come alive in a vertical, real-life style video lasting about one to two minutes. Every figure should move naturally while staying true to the photo’s lighting, colors, and textures. I will supply a detailed, time-coded script that spells out who does what: playful games, specific interactions, quick dances, and other fun-loving moments that let the relatives interact with each other on screen.
The original background must stay in place, but feel free to enhance it for clarity, color balance, and depth so the final piece looks like it was captured on the same day. All animation has to be done in portrait orientation so it fits modern phone screens perfectly.
You may choose whatever pipeline suits you best—AI motion tools, rotoscoping, compositing in After Effects, EbSynth, DeepMotion, or similar—as long as the end result looks photorealistic rather than cartoon. Smooth transitions, matched eye lines, and believable shadows are key.
Deliverables
• One 1–2 minute, portrait-orientation video (1080x1920 or higher, MP4/MOV) that follows the provided script exactly
• Source project files for archive purposes
• At least one revision round to fine-tune expressions, timing, or background tweaks
Acceptance criteria
The action list (games, dances, gestures) must match the script, the original backdrop must remain recognizable, and the overall piece should feel like a single continuous recording with no obvious compositing seams.

Attached is an old family photo and below is what I want detailed:
I want to animate a fun loving video with detailed interactions. Realistic and polished. I want it to be a very happy video, bringing life to this beautiful family photo. Each person will be interacting and doing different things as mentioned below. I will give each person an assigned number, so I can easily specify what they will be doing and who they will be interacting with. There are two rows of people. On the top row, there are 5 people. Assigned numbers from top row left to right are assigned 1 to 5. The bottom row left to right, there are 6 people and one baby. The baby does not get assigned a number The bottom row from left to right are assigned numbers 6 to 11. I will include the description of how the baby is animated with directions for person 10.
I want each person to do different things as mentioned below for this video. While they are doing the explained actions, they will also be interacting with each other as also explained below. Please do your next to make the video flow the best it can, and everyone’s actions in the script. How ever it will blend and flow best, lets do that. There is a lot of stuff going on as mentioned below. Please analyze it and make it all flow well. If you need any clarification, please let me know.
Person 1 (boy) :I want him drinking a glass bottle of milk and nodding his head reading a medical textbook. I want him to be happy, but still serious, thinking and reading, but also acknowledging his surroundings and the people who are interacting with him. There are events throughout the script of person 1’s interactions with the other people.
Person 2 (girl): I want her to be affectionate and show love the the people near her. I want her to give big hugs to Person 3 and Person 7. I want her to show a lot of love to Person 1 and happy bother him while he is reading. There are events throughout the script of person 2’s interactions with the other people.
Person 3 (tall guy standing up in center): I want him picking up a white cardboard sign with “મને મારા ભાઈ-બહેનો ખૂબ જ પ્રિય છે।” written on it. He can be slightly more serious, but still appear happy. I want him to put down the sign and hug Person 2 back when she hugs him. I want person 3 to look at person 6 when hes playing the harmonica and dance for a couple seconds and high five person 6. I also want him to high five person Person 5 and then to lock hands like they’re both about to arm wrestle, but let go, both laugh together.. Eventually I want person 3 to pick up person 8 and put person 8 on his shoulders and both dance. There are events throughout the script of person 3’s interactions with the other people.
Person 4 (girl): I want her to smile and be happy. I want her to lean in and play with the baby sitting on person 10’s lap. I also want to put her arm around person 9. She can eventually softly take baby from person 10 and rock her happily. There are events throughout the script of person 4’s interactions with the other people with the other people.
Person 5 (boy) : I want him to pick up an old film camera and take photos of person 11 laughing at him dancing. I want him to wind the camera after every shot. No flash. His interaction with person 3 (which was mentioned above) can be after he takes a photo of person 3. After that I want person 5 to flex both of his arms as well and person 3 to put his hands back with a slight smile, comically seeing how strong person 5 is. There are events throughout the script of person 5’s interactions with the other people.
Person 6 (boy): I want this person to look up at person 7, making eye contact with him and both of them smiling at each other. Person 6 stands up and strokes his hair back. He takes a harmonica out of his pocket and happily starts playing the harmonica and dancing. People around him are looking at him playing and clapping, when they are interacting with him. At some point I want person 6 to stop playing the harmonica, go over to person 11 and jokingly take his shoes and put them on the stool he was sitting on. Then continue playing the harmonica after he steals the shoes. With his dancing, at one point, make him dance like Elvis Presley. Person 1 for a moment stops reading and takes the shoes off the stool and put them behind him. There are events throughout the script of person 6’s interactions with the other people.
Person 7: I want this person to genuinely just show love to everyone in the photo. His interactions are detailed throughout the script with the other people. Serious but loving
Person 8: I want him playing with his toy car and showing it to person 7 with a smile. I want him at one point to look at person 11's shoes with jealousy. When person 6 runs passed him with the shoes, I want him to notice the shoes are being taken. Person 8’s interactions are mentioned throughout the script with the other people.
Person 9: I want person 9 to try and fold his ears back with his hands and they immediately bounce back when he let’s go. I want him to do this twice and then raise and lower his shoulders sighing because it didn’t work. After I want to see him loving the baby which is sitting on person 10’s lap. . I also want him to show a lot of affection to person 4 as well. There are events throughout the script of person 9’s interactions with the other people.
Person 10: Person 10 will be playing with the baby on her lap. The baby is happy. Once person 4 takes the baby, I want person 10 kneeling down and giving person 11 a cute hug. Person 10 can put sunglasses on person 11, and person 11 can continues dancing. Then person 10 starts clapping as person 11 continues dancing. I want person 10 to spank person 6’s butt as he steals person 11’s shoes and starts running to his side of the photo. I want her to have a look of discontent towards person 6 for taking the shoes, but quickly starts laughing at person 6’s action. I want person 10 to look at person 2 with a smile, both shaking her heads at this action. There are events throughout the script of person 10’s interactions with the other people.
Person 11 (boy): I want person 11 to pop his collar and start dancing like john travolta in saturday night fever. There are events throughout the script of person 11’s interactions with the other people.

After everything mentioned above is completed with proper interaction and flow, I want Person 10 to walk towards person 7 and they both hug and person 7 spins her in a circle. Person 3 puts person 8 down and Person 3 goes in between person 10 and person 7. While this is happening, everyone else goes to the right of the screen and start interacting like family. Person 7, person 10, and person 3 are on the right looking at the entire family on the left proudly smiling.
Everyone stops for a moment and everyone does a generic bollywood dance for 15 seconds together.. When it ends, everyone dances out of the frame towards the right. Person 11 comes back looking for his shoes, finds them, picks them up and runs out the frame to the left with a big smile.
