have influenced your dietary choices and eating behaviors.
In your written reflection, you are to define & discuss one (1) social determinant that is relevant to your individual
experience.
This may include reflecting on past experiences and contexts that have governed your eating behaviors
and food choices, in the past or today.
Relevant social determinants of health to food choice may include social
class, culture, attitudes and beliefs, social context and meal patterns.

In addition, define & discuss two (2) other determinants of food choice from the following list that are relevant to your
experience:

Biological determinants: hunger, satiety/appetite, taste and other sensory aspects.
2.
Economic determinants: economic stability, cost and accessibility of food, income level, availability of
foods, effect of income on individual lifestyle factors that may lead to under- or over-nutrition.
3.
Physical determinants: access to food (i.e. transport, and geographical location), education (i.e..
What are
healthy or appropriate choices), skills (i.e. cooking & meal preparation) and time (i.e. convenience)
4.
Psychological factors: Stress, mood, food advertising, acculturation
