African American Children's Book Illustrator - Abstract Style - Poetic Book

In need of an illustrator with experience and the ability to draw African American illustrations for a poetic children’s book, starting immediately upon hire. The style is more abstract with examples attached.

A work sample featuring African/Black/Brown characters is highly encouraged.
This job is for 14 two-page spreads!

Let's start with a paid sketch to be sure you are the best person for the job.
For this one (1) paid milestone, the imagery should be of elders/older brown people planting seeds in the ground.
This starts the scene for a book that goes on a journey of a seed turning into a beautiful people. The seeds represent ideas, hopes, and dreams to blossom into people.
More specifically the image should include a brown dirt ground with older black/brown woman and man dropping seeds.

Examples are attached to give you an idea of what I'm looking for.

Please note that this is a work for hire and I will own all rights to the illustrations.

Final images must be provided as follows:
- In a single high resolution PDF file at size 8.5" x 8.5" (300dpi or above)
- Individually in .jpg or .psd file format
- I prefer to also receive the high resolution final line art of each image before they are colored
